Two New Priests for the Diocese
On February 2, 2010 the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the Diocese of Roseau will welcomed two new priests ordained for the Diocese. Six months ago, Fr. Peter Wamutitu of Kenya and Fr. Conan Shillingford of Elmshall were ordained to the diaconate, the final stage in the journey towards priesthood.
During these last few months, as deacons, they have been involved in parish ministry. Fr. Peter Wamutitu is presently ministering in the parish of St. Patrick, Grand Bay along with Parish Priest Archbishop Emeritus Kelvin Felix while Fr. Conan Shillingford is presently serving in the parish of Our Lady of Health with Fr. Elveau Augustine as Pastor. From February 21, 2010, Fr. Conan Shillingford will be assigned to the Parish of St. Andrew, Veille Case as assistant to the new Parish Priest Fr. Godfrey Tarimo.
The Diocese of Roseau rejoices with the families of these two young men as they give themselves in service to the people of God in this diocese. Last year, we witnessed the priestly ordinations of Frs. Nigel Karam and Jason Grell, FMI, and Louis-Chard Lindor.
